The 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show has had a number of significant new car debuts. BMW showed off the new M5, complete with a 600 horsepower V8 engine, and a new M xDrive all-wheel drive system that retains a rear-wheel drive mode. BMW also showed off its X7 Concept, which is a 7-seater crossover that will debut late next year, Mercedes-AMG showed off their new hypercar, the AMG Project One, which is a Formula 1 car for the road. The Formula 1 engine revs to almost 11,000rpm and can accelerate the car from 0-100km/hr in only 6 seconds. The whole car is carbon fibre of course, and comes with an equally exotic price tag of over 2 million euros. Keeping with the pricier theme, Bentley displayed their all-new Continental, which comes with a 626 horsepower W12 engine driving all four wheels through a lighter chassis. And finally, to the delight of hardcore enthusiasts, Porsche debuted the 911 GT3 Touring Package, which is a 6-speed manual-only GT3 with a rear-wing delete and a few other small touches. Basically, it’s the one that we’ve all been waiting for, and it will make all those people who bought insanely marked-up 911 R’s die a little bit inside.
