If you had around six figures to spend on a new track toy, chances are it would be one of these. Each represents the very best of what their respective manufacturers are capable of when it comes to all-out track performance.
The Viper is on its last legs, but it is going out with a bang. The ACR packs an 8.4L V10 engine that produces 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Electronics and driver aids are kept to an absolute minimum. All you get to help carve fast lap times really are ultra high grip tires and an insane aero package.
The Porsche GT3 RS is a rather different track machine altogether. Unlike the comparably basic Viper, it has an ultra-quick paddle-shift gearbox, advanced four-wheel steering, and an 8800rpm race-bred engine located in the rear. It’s far from cheap, but the RS is arguably the most capable and enjoyable track toy one can buy at any price.
If a value-packed track car is what you’re after though, look no further than the Mustang GT350R. Like the others, it makes use of aggressive aerodynamic bits, suspension tuning, and grippy tires. The GT350R differentiates itself with exotic carbon fibre wheels, an 8250rpm flat-plane crank V8 engine, and unbeatable value for the money.
