The 2017 Geneva Auto Show is one of the largest auto shows in the world. This year they had several significant new car debuts, including both super cars and regular cars.
Super car debuts include the Ferrari 812 Superfast, Porsche 911 GT3, and Lamborghini Huracan Performante. As tempting as that Ferrari is with its 789 horsepower naturally aspirated V12 and drop dead gorgeous sheet metal, I still have to give the edge to the GT3. Porsche has finally done the right thing and given its hardcore GT car a proper 6-speed manual gearbox alongside the standard PDK which it should have had all along. I can see all those insanely high markup 911 R’s plummeting already.
As for the normal cars, the debuts include the Subaru Crosstrek, Volvo XC60, Land Rover Range Rover Velar, and Honda Civic Type-R. Both the Range Rover Velar and XC60 look fantastic and should be excellent all-around SUVs. The Civic Type-R though is the real headline grabber here. With its 306 horsepower turbocharged engine, 6-speed manual gearbox, trick diff and adaptive suspension, the Type-R is undoubtedly the hottest Civic to ever come to our shores.
