The Kia Stinger is a total game changer for the Korean brand. It’s an all-new midsized sedan designed to go head-to-head with the best from BMW, Audi, and other the established luxury players. The rear-wheel drive platform (all-wheel drive only in Canada) is entirely new and has been designed with the help of former BMW M executive Albert Biermann to be both capable and comfortable. The result is a GT car well suited to long distance driving that can also handle a spirited drive down a twisty back road. In Canada, the Stinger will only be offered with a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 engine matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, enough to keep it on par with high-performance German cars such as the BMW 440i Gran Coupe and Audi A5 Sportback. In addition to top-notch performance, the design is one of the Stinger’s other major selling points. The sharp styling was penned by former Audi designer Peter Schreyer and his design team. All things considered, the Kia Stinger looks to be an incredible product. With prices ranging from $41,195 to $49,995 here in Canada, it is also excellent value.
